Releasing next year, the highly anticipated Marvel's Spider-Man 2 promises to expand on the stories of Peter Parker and Miles Morales, and a talking point of the footage released so far has been their new suits. Despite just a short reveal trailer showing off the new game, speculation has been rife about what could come in the sequel. Theories such as Miles saving Peter from the symbiote (Venom is confirmed to appear) have been suggested, and this could also impact the suits of the protagonists, which have undergone slight visual changes from previous appearances.SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY
As was the case with Marvel's Spider-Man and the subsequent Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Spidey suit customization and appearance was a large and well-researched part of both games. Despite the default outfits for Peter and Miles being well-designed, many players were keen to switch up their suits throughout the length of the game. Thankfully, the varied catalog of obtainable suits in the first game was well-received, with a total of 47 different options (including those gained through DLC) ranging from past media-inspired outfits to completely original designs from Insomniac, and this is very likely to be the case in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 as well.

From what can be seen in the brief reveal trailer Insomniac showed off to fans at PlayStation Showcase in 2021, both Peter and Miles' iconic outfits have received slight visual changes for the sequel. The color design of Peter's suit takes on a slightly darker red for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (as well as the removal of the slight blue line near his elbows), and this could be a visual representation of the more emotional tone the game could take on compared to the original - or it could simply be a nod to Venom's gruesome and dark story. Also seen very briefly is Peter's "Iron Arms" ability, a feature that was available in the first game, and in the trailer, the arms have taken on a silver look compared to the original's red design.
Darker Suits For Miles & Peter In Spider-Man 2 Could Reflect Its Storyline
Miles' suit, similar to Peter's suit, has also taken on a darker shade in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Again, it's possible both protagonists will undergo a more emotional adventure than in the first game, especially with Miles' increased responsibilities following the spin-off game and maturing in age and ability. In another slight suit change, there is much more red running down the lines of the arms, very similar to what has changed on Peter's suit.
Despite these changes being small in terms of design, it is important to note that there is likely a story-based reason behind this. With storylines hinting at Peter having to fight friend Harry Osborn in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, it would be safe to suggest the game will hit a variety of emotional beats and be darker in tone. With story info a bit scarce right now, many fans are keen to see extra footage of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 - and more of Peter and Miles's new suits, too.
