Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' Simu Liu made a guest appearance on Screen Rant's Pitch Meeting to commemorate the show surpassing 300 episodes. Screen Rant's Pitch Meetings have been around since 2017 and the show imagines what the pitch meetings for the all the latest movies might have been like. Ryan George writes and stars in the series, portraying a film executive and a screenwriter who don't always make the best decisions when it comes to putting together Hollywood's biggest hits. Most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) films have made their way to Pitch Meeting.SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings premiered on September 3, 2021, and received very positive reviews. The film marked the official debut of Liu's Shang-Chi, a former martial arts master who fled from his traumatic past and wound up working as a valet in San Francisco. However, his father's search for a mystical village and the growing power of his organization, the Ten Rings, forces Shang-Chi to delve back into his family history. Of course, Pitch Meeting didn't spare Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings its typical sarcasm, making Liu's appearance on the show slightly awkward.

To mark the show passing the benchmark of 300 episodes, Pitch Meeting got a guest appearance from Liu. Having surpassed 300 episodes, the show was in need of an upgrade, so they upgraded by replacing the screenwriter with a Canadian superstar who turned out to be Liu. Liu had a few ideas for Pitch Meeting, such as working on a follow-up to his memoir We Were Dreamers or making some content on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Of course, since Pitch Meetings doesn't really do reading, and it already made fun of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, they ultimately decided Liu might not be the best fit for Screenwriter. Both Pitch Meetings & Simu Liu Have Come A Long Way
Liu's guest appearance on Pitch Meeting was quite comical, but it was also an indication of what a long way both Liu and Pitch Meeting have come. Pitch Meeting started out under the Screen Rant YouTube channel when it debuted five years ago, however, it worked its way up to debuting its own channel in March 2022. Now, it is 300 episodes deep and boasting big-time guest stars like Liu. Meanwhile, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' Liu has also come a long way. In just the course of a year, he has gone from being an actor on the small screen, to shooting multiple blockbuster films and publishing his own memoir. In fact, he's even considered a Canadian superstar and worthy of replacing the Pitch Meeting crew (just temporarily, though!).
Ultimately, it was quite a fitting touch for Pitch Meeting's 300th episode milestone to be commemorated with Liu. After all, even though Pitch Meeting wasn't too nice about Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Liu didn't leave any doubt on social media that he was still stoked to watch it. Meanwhile, the two share some similarities in having both experienced significant growth in a short period of time. Through Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' Liu's guest appearance on Pitch Meeting, they simultaneously managed to highlight each other's growth, while also delighting fans.
