The witches are back for Hocus Pocus 2, and several fresh faces are joining them in the long-awaited follow-up to the beloved 1993 Disney movie. Featuring the return of the Sanderson Sisters, the Disney+ sequel releasing for the Halloween season comes 29 years after Hocus Pocus. While the witches in focus of the cult classic movie are once again at the center of a ritual gone wrong, Hocus Pocus 2 attempts to balance the nostalgia with a handful of franchise newcomers.

Following the timeline of the original movie, Hocus Pocus 2 is set nearly three decades after the Sanderson Sisters were accidentally brought back to Salem. Though Max, Dani, and Allison aren't tasked with protecting Salem from the Sanderson Sisters this time around, there's a new group that takes on the dangerous mission. The sequel, which was in the works for nearly a decade, gives the original Hocus Pocus witches–Winifred, Mary, and Sarah Sanderson–another chance to wreak havoc on modern-day Salem while expanding their backstories.

Of course, Hocus Pocus couldn't return for a sequel without its trio of veterans starring as the Sanderson Sisters. In addition to another returning character, Hocus Pocus 2 features several young up-and-comers alongside some very familiar names with ties to titles like Veep and Ted Lasso. That said, here's the character guide for Hocus Pocus 2, including where viewers would know the cast.
